Who we are

Qurani (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a Quran application that prioritizes local-first usage and user privacy.

What we collect

On first launch, the app collects basic, non-identifying device information and stores it locally (and may send it to our server later to improve reliability and support). We do not collect personal identifiers like your name, email, advertising IDs, or precise location.

• Installation ID: a random UUID generated once per app installation (not a hardware/device ID).
• App info: app name, package name, version, build number.
• Platform info (varies by OS):
  • Android: OS version, SDK level, manufacturer, model, physical device flag.
  • iOS: system name/version, model, physical device flag.
  • Windows/macOS/Linux: basic system information (e.g., model/arch/OS release, cores, memory).
  • Web: browser userAgent, platform, language, hardwareConcurrency, screen size and pixel ratio (if available).
• Locale: system language/country and the language selected in the app.
• Time zone: name and UTC offset.
• Collected at: timestamp when the data was collected.

We do not collect device IDs that are tied to the hardware (e.g., IMEI), advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, or precise location.

Why we collect it

• Diagnostics and support: understand app environment to troubleshoot issues.
• Reliability: plan platform-specific improvements.
• Future notifications: if you opt into notifications later, we may store a push token (e.g., FCM/APNs/Web Push) to deliver messages. Tokens rotate and are not hardware IDs.

Storage and retention

• Data is saved locally on your device. If server sync is enabled later, we will transmit the same JSON securely.
• We retain only what is necessary for the purposes above and delete/aggregate where possible.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may share strictly necessary information with service providers (e.g., push notification delivery) under data protection agreements.

Your choices

• You can clear app data to remove stored information.
• You can choose not to enable notifications; if enabled, you can disable them at any time from system settings.

Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will update the “Effective date” above when changes are made.
